great shoe with a few problems
By Ferg (Missouri) on Nov 19, 2011
This is a nice shoe that i have enjoyed running in. It is the first minimalist shoe i have worn, and over the last few month i have progressed to being able to run 14 miles in them. I have had a few issues with them. The soles on one began separating from the upper within the first 20 miles that ... (Read more)

Good start
By Sooner minimalist (San Antonio, TX) on Nov 19, 2011
I love the look and feel of the shoe. But the stitching has started to come undone on the exterior instep of the right shoe. Since I've had the shoe for only a week, that's concerning. I have contacted customer support and am hoping a replacement pair will be on the way soon.

Love my Adams!
By Bushidokop (Chickasha, OK) on Nov 20, 2011
My Adams were definitely worth the wait. I held off as long as I could as I waited month after month for Altra to finally get them out... tempted many times to go with another minimalist shoe.
But now these are my "go to" shoe for everything, be it running roads, trails, HIIT training on a track,... (Read more)

Super comfortable, great feedback
By RayRunsTrails (Northern California) on Nov 20, 2011
Pros- Extra wide toe box, great ground feedback while having minimal protection and grip on the ground. I prefer straps to laces, less clutter. Look great also. Easy to clean, I just hose them off & let them air dry.
Cons- Compared to the interior material (w/& without the provided inserts) of V... (Read more)

Almost Perfect
By Viper (Akron, OH) on Nov 21, 2011
My pair of Altra Adams arrived at the beginning of September 2011, and my first impressions were very positive. I have since logged 100 miles in the shoes, including the Akron Marathon. I've run long and short distances, and in dry and wet conditions. I've run on roads, multi-purpose paths, and roug... (Read more)

Top Notch Ultra Minimalist Shoe
By hellorhighwater (Davenport, IA) on Nov 22, 2011
i've gotten a few runs in them and i love them. i've ran only in ultra minimalist shoes the last couple years and can honestly say the adams are the most natural/barefoot feeling of them all. the amount of allowed toe splay really sets them apart. they're comfortable in any of the three insole optio... ...everything but perfect
By NorthernNecker (Heathsville, VA) on Dec 4, 2011
...everything claimed to be and more. Buuuuuutt, the "D" shaped cinch strap holder on the big toe side(inside of shoe) dug a hole in my foot after the first 3 miles running. Socks cure the problem. But I prefer bare footing it. I DON'T WANT TO WEAR SOCKS!!!!
Also, would a little anti-microbial ke... (Read more)

First impression
By runner (Willoughby, OH) on Jan 10, 2012
For me, with my size 11.5, a bit of a struggle getting my feet into the shoe; could use a little more stretch or a little wider opening. But once in the shoe my feet and fit was fine... My toes loved the wide toe box area.
