Not just for runners!
By NurseShark (Waterloo, IA) on Nov 19, 2011
Found these shoes online after reading a research article about how "flat, flexible" shoes were better for those of us with arthritis in the knees. I have worn them to stand 6-8 hours a day as a nurse since receiving them and have had no break-in issues. I do use a very small positionable arch supp... (Read more)

Still not sure what I think of these shoes
By Jules (Cincinnati, OH) on Nov 19, 2011
I really wanted to love these shoes, and there are things I love, such as the toe box. It's roomy but comfortable and my foot never slides around. But I've also had issues with these shoes. I bought a half size larger as was recommended, but I think they are still too short. I also have an issue ... (Read more)

Can't walk without them!
By Cozy Toes (Santa Rosa, CA) on Nov 21, 2011
I am NOT a runner...nor will I ever be. However, I am a 30 year old mom who has been plagued with foot issues since I was a teen. I have had reconstructive surgery to correct the deformities on one of my feet (removed bunions, fused a joint, took some bone out etc). As of last year I have also be... (Read more)

great shoes
By skinny (Laurel Montana) on Nov 22, 2011
I am new to running and a co-worker suggested these shoes. Did have to send them back to get a 1/2 size larger. Love the shoes so far, hope they hold up through the winter. Ran in them yesterday at 36 degrees, and 3 inches of snow. Feet stayed warm.

Great Shoe
By Lc (North Carolina) on Nov 25, 2011
After a few runs in this shoe I can say that it offers a comfortable ride. No problems with inside seams and my toes are doing a happy dance everyday because they are free to move! The shoe is lighter than I expected, and it arrives with two sets of insoles. I like the mesh upper, it seems durable a... (Read more)

Exactly what I was looking for
By Amy (southern colorado) on Nov 27, 2011
I chose this shoe because you get the benefit of zero drop without feeling every pebble under your foot when you run. I had tried a pair of the barefoot shoes but I run on some rugged terrain and my feet are apparently a little sensitive. I love teh large toe box as well. These shoes have helped m... (Read more)

Perfectly Comfortable
By HotDawg (Houston, TX) on Dec 12, 2011
I've been running barefoot and in minimalist shoes for the last three years after spending my 30 year running career wishing for a shoe that wouldn't provide "control" and arch support. As a teen I was told I pronate (which I now know is normal and healthy)and that I should be wearing heavy motion c... (Read more)

By Alaskan Iron Girl (Chugiak, AK) on Jan 3, 2012
I have been running in these shoes for 1 month and brought them on vacation with me but forgot to bring regular shoes. Have been walking around all day for three days in these intuitions and can't get over how great my feet feel!! I came to the website to see if Altra makes these shoes in a non-ru... (Read more)

SO happy with these shoes!
By Chugach Runner (Anchorage, AK) on Jan 9, 2012
My husband bought these for me for Christmas after raving about his amazing runs in the Instincts. I was dubious at first, but you know how hopeful you always feel when you put on a fresh pair of running shoes? That maybe these shoes will be the ones that make you faster and running easier? I've be... (Read more)

The Miracle shoe.....almost
By LeahBear (Portland, OR) on Feb 12, 2012
PROS:
Nice and wide toebox, keeps feet cool with nice airflow, makes me feel like I am flying when I run. I measure a size 8 and bought a size 9. I have about 1/2" of space between the end of my big toe and the end of the shoe.
CONS:
I have one complaint. The top back of my heels, gets rubbed... (Read more)
